The Monastic Life
The monks bathed once
a week and smelled
accordingly, the food
was good and if you
didn’t mind bells at
all hours calling you
to prayer it wasn’t
such a bad life and
when they all sang
Gregorian chants you
didn’t mind the stench
it was so beautiful.
The Answer
Mother said it was
the stork that brought
my baby brother
but I knew better
I saw the doctor bring
him into the house
in a black bag.
